The Railway Cottage in Glenbeigh is placed in a scenic landscape at the foot of Curra Mountain. The former milesmen's house from 1890 is close to the world famous Ring of Kerry. The Kerry Walk Way and the Greenway leads along the property. The beautiful Rossbeigh Beach is just three minutes drive away from Railway Cottage. The Railway Cottage is set in a scenic landscape on the Ring of Kerry. The Kerry Walk Way leads along the property and this spot is perfect to start daily tours to explore the Iveragh, Dingle and Beara Peninsula as well as the south west of Ireland. As a former milesmens house, this cottage now combines the history with todays amenities.

The entrance of Railway Cottage will give you a first impression of what this house is about: You will find authentic antiques in combination with all modern standards. The former entrance of the milesmens house is now the door to the living room. All our guests travel with a lot of luggage. To save space in your travel case we provide a range wellies for you. you might need them for a walk at the nearby Rossbeigh Beach or a walk in the fairy tale forrest.

The living room is the former base of the milesmens house. For your entertainment we provide traditional board games, as well as a selection of books and guidebooks, cds, dvds and blue rays. And, of course, a 4k smart TV and a XBoxOneS. To create a cozy cottage atmosphere you will find a fireplace surrounded with original lamps and lights from old railway lines. Also there is our authentic and steep staircase to the first floor.

The country style kitchen is the heart of Railway Cottage and provides all modern features like AGA cooker, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, water kettle and coffee machine. There is also a fireplace in the kitchen. A stable door leads to the bbq area and the garden with two herb areas.

The utility room has a guest toilett as well as a washing machine with tumble dryer. As a set, they communicate with each other in case you need quick laundry. Safety first: You will find a fire extinguisher and and a frist aid case.

The master bedroom is in the old part of Railway Cottage. Therefor the sign says "station master". Here is the super king size double bed and a built-in wardrobe. Through the roof window you can observe the planets and stars in clear nights.

We call it the gallery, because you will see a lot of art in the hallway. Small but with a fantastic view through the panaroma window is the office. In case you have to work or just count the sheep, this is the right spot.

The master bathroom right accross the office is marble covered and provides an easy access shower. After a long walk at Rossbeigh Beach or in the fairy tale forest, which starts from the property, a hot shower in this bath is priceless, especially when you experience this very soft water.

Down the gallery there is the double bedroom on the left. Behind the wardrobe you will find an ironing board and the flatiron. It is not possible to date the chaise longue, but we found it quaint and somehow fits in perfectly in this bedroom.

The single bedroom is in the same style of the other bedrooms. But for the cool dudes, this room is more contemporary with its art and the copper chair.

The stable door in the kitchen gives you direct access to the bbq terrace with a modern fireplace and a large round table with six very comfortable chairs. An extender, which is placed in the kitchen, provides free Wi-Fi with high speed internet also on the terrace and garden.

What does the environment look like? By far the most asked question followed by what to see and to do in the area. Ok, the images speak for themselves, but there are nearly all outdoor activities, just to name some like hiking, golfing, kayaking, swimming, kiting and beach riding possible.
